Hendersonville is the largest city in Sumner County, about twenty-five minutes northeast of downtown Nashville by I-65 and Vietnam Veterans Boulevard, and Old Hickory Lake defines it: twenty-six miles of shoreline, with about half the city sitting on the Indian Lake and Walton Ferry peninsulas that reach into the water.
